Early College Awareness (ECA)

Early College Awareness (ECA) seeks to promote higher education among high school students in rural New Hampshire. The program works with the juniors and seniors at Mascoma Valley Regional High School in Canaan, NH. Volunteers work 1-on-1 with juniors beginning in the winter of 11th grade and assist them with preparing for college through the fall of 12th grade. ECA also organizes weekend workshops for interested community members of the Upper Valley.
The curriculum follows the path listed below:
SENIOR FALL: With the assistance of ECA volunteers, students work on their personal statements, college applications, and explore financial aid options.
JUNIOR WINTER: Students explore different types of higher education institutions and learn about the college experience, including academics, extra-curriculars, residential life, etc.
