SPRING SERIES: WRIT LARGE: FROM PAGE TO SCREEN
Seeing your favorite book on the big screen can be a curse and a blessing. Great books have been a conduit for learning, a cornerstone for human communication and often, the primary source for film. Every time a film adaptation of a popular book is announced, naysayers bemoan the lack of originality in Hollywood. In the hands of gifted screenwriters though, written works can be transformed into something new and remarkable.
This spring, the Film Society showcases the art of film adaptation across eras, genres and borders. Come and see what the written word can look and feel like when writ large.
